The Tarpon Mouse, sometimes called the Tarpon Slider, is a classic Florida tarpon fly. The Mouse is my version of the classic reimagined for the educated fish found oceanside and in the backcountry of the Keys today. The Foxy Mouse substitutes spun arctic fox for the deer hair found in the original Mouse. The spun arctic fox head is not as buoyant as deer hair but it lands softer and allows the fly to sink slowly and remain level, perfect for laid up fish. Tied on a #1 hook.
